Growing Sweet Potatoes
Mrs Rutherford had some old sweet potatoes with long roots. The children in the centre planted them in the Oakfied garden back in July.
Mrs Rutherford says; 'We were amazed last week to find such big sweet potatoes growing. The Centre children had a lovely morning digging up these potatoes as well as picking tomatoes. We also discovered that the compost bin has made us such dark rich soil purely from old weeds, leaves, sunflowers and shredded paper.'
