Year 3
Welcome,
Year 3
Welcome,
We have a really enjoyable curriculum in year 3. Some of our main topics this year in Geography and History are the Stone, Bronze and Iron age, Megacities, Ancient Egypt and Jungles and Deserts!
Some of our Science units include; Rocks and Soils, The Human Body and Forces and Magnets.
There are many enrichment opportunities too. In the Autumn term we visit normally visit Butser farm to learn about life in the Stone, Bronze and Iron age. It really is a fantastic day out and the children love becoming archaeologists, jewellery makers and much more!
In the Spring term we usually have 10 weekly swimming lessons at Leatherhead Leisure Centre. We normally go to the British Museum to look at the Ancient Egyptian Galleries too which the children find very exciting! In addition, a huge highlight of the year are two workshops; one looking at Ancient Egyptian artefacts and another with a theatre group exploring daily life in Ancient Egyptian times.
In the Summer term the Year 3 children look forward to a Sleepover at school. It’s a great night filled with fun activities on the field, pizza for everyone, a movie and some sleep! We have our fingers crossed that this can still go ahead this year.
